My name is Jaime Leigh, I am a Hairstylist working in the film industry, originally from Aotearoa New Zealand, but now based in Long Beach, California.

It all began during COVID, as did many podcasts. I was working on some wigs and getting a bit tired of listening to True Crime podcasts, I love them but boy oh boy do they not only make me paranoid I will become the victim in one, but they also lower my faith in humanity! So I decided to search for a podcast about our industry, specifically Makeup & Hair, to help feel more inspired.

I found a few bits & pieces scattered on different streaming platforms, but they were mainly speaking to Makeup Artists and with me being a Hairstylist, I wanted to hear from both sides and specifically those working in the TV and Film world.

So in my usual fashion, I started complaining to my ex-husband Brett Stanley and his response was “well why don’t you start one then?”, my response to this was “don’t be crazy!”

But once that seed was planted, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Brett helped me with all the technical stuff & his suggestion was, “just do one interview with someone you know and trust, if you hate it, it stops there, or you keep doing it”.

Well, obviously I just kept on truckin’ with it & here I am today, doing something I never thought I would or could ever do!
